588. Shine

I recognize my suffering now,

As never I have before.

I will never again allow,

My soul to close its’ door;

For I am a bright being of light,

Trapped in a world of black,

Where the brighter of a light,

The more the darkness will attack.

Yes, I am light living in darkness,

But the darkness has not prevailed!

My light has become less and less,

Though it is not yet veiled!

No, the darkness may have dimmed my light,

But it endures nonetheless.

My soul emerges new and bright,…

A sun: Radiant and boundless!

The dark, it can not hold me back,

Nor cease my eternal spark.

I light a way through the pitiless black,

For those who hear: Hark! Hark!

You are made of stars and light.

Mortal only in time and place.

Your end is not darkness and night,

Just as all stars out in space.

You will always exist and emerge,

Triumphant,…in brilliant display.

So forever let your light surge,

And to light and goodness pray.

For in the end light will always win,

And the darkness must retreat in hate;

As the universe, time, and planets spin,…

An eternity of light and love awaits.

514. Smile

Sit with me awhile,

As the walls collapse around us;

For I live to see you smile,

And the chaos can not touch us,

When hearts so pleasantly beguile.

Let’s sit hand-in-hand,

And remember, as we gaze…

Into another land,

That all time is but a phase;

And life and death: unplanned.

So sit with me tonight.

Let us go away together,

Where the sun is shining bright,

And we can always be together.

Hold me close, and hold on tight.

Sit with me awhile…For I….

474. Victorious

This world is full of bullies,

Who’ll throw their weight around.

They’ll lack the skill to fight you,

So they’ll cheat and build themselves up,

To throw you to the ground.

No matter what they may say.

The best won’t always win.

Those who fail time and again,

May never get what they deserve.

May never, ever win.

So you should not place your bets,

On who will win one fight,

For the true victor will rise,

Against the odds and vast mountains,

Without a hand in sight.

This world is full of bullies.

It’s not fair, but it’s true.

They’ll find ways to tear you down,

While looking like the noble saint;

And the pure angel too.

Do not be discouraged though.

Fight on… Fight hard and strong!

For no matter the outcome,…

Defeat is but temporary,

And eternity is long.

…And year by year there’s death, then birth,…

On Earth…on Earth…

…And why on why, thoughts built on and on,…

Then gone…then gone…

…And step by step all the birds in the sky…

Let us meet upon the spectral plains of Elysium,

Where all are equal in the eyes of the sun,

As we rest our heads to dream forever,

Of what could never be on Earth;

And of ties which could not sever,

Us, from our birth.

Rest your head upon my shoulder and dream of yesterdays,

As the labors of blood and flesh fade away.

Here you’re my brother, my sister, my kin.

Our fates are eternally bound.

Beyond prejudice, fear, and sin,

Heaven is found.
