38. Gifts of Love

heaven-light

I believe if ‘God’ gives gifts of beauty, we should use it for that’s our duty.

For in giving of something for to use, you lose the right to get to choose.

Whether or not you feel open to use it: for ‘he’s’ waiting; hoping,

That he can see you use ‘his’ present,

The wonders of love, for you, ‘he’ sent.

Your gifts and talents show ‘his’ affection,

To a world which needs this connection.

So use these grand gifts from above,

Don’t let them sit and rot ‘his’ love.

37. Far From the Firelight

Girl at Window

She sat by the windowsill late one night; it was in full winter and the room lit by firelight.

The snow was falling gently to the ground, glistening magically with crisp moons’-light abound.

Not a sound could be heard but winds’ dance, against the glass she gazed through, in a trance.

The warmth cast from the fire she barely felt at all.  It was the wintery night scene which to her heart did call.

The crackle of the firewood and flickering of the blaze were distant and foreign now amidst her window gaze.

She felt nothing but the emptiness of her soul, which made her wish for the fire that had once made her feel whole.

A slight movement of her hand allowed the winds to enter, cutting off the tiny bit of warmth the fire had sent her.

Now all was silent and motionless but the falling snow, so she climbed out into it, and the skies’ scattered glow.

She ran out to where the moons’-light hit the ground best.  She felt not the snow nor the cold air from the west.

There she laid herself on the white earth, until he felt the warmth she knew to be priceless in worth.

There she dwells ever still in that place so right, where warmth was given to her soul far from the firelight.

36. The Door

The door is open to another place,

Where you can run and veil your face.

You’re free to enter for your escape,

But it’s lined on the bottom with red tape.

Leave from here to go over there,

And the tape between worlds starts to wear.

Each time is harder to return from,

Making your glimpse of realities numb.

Run through the door to hide,

And enter an emptiness far and wide.

There’s the door if you wish to fare,

Sometimes there’s just too much to bear.

35. The Past Forever

beautiful_sunrise_on_green_meadow

Here we are on this new morn,

We wish knowledge may be born;

To the past forever on its’ way,

To find the night and lose the day.

We want to change some things,

A choice can’t take back what it brings.

For the past is forever on its’ way,

To find the night and lose the day.

But alas with each new suns’ ray,

We are given a recreated day,

To make the best of in every way.

34. Me and I

Girl in Mirror (3)

“Me”, said I. “I have some questions to ask. Do you think you can handle the task?”

Well, just go ahead.

“Why do you wish to be dead”?

“Do you feel somehow unfit”?

There is no forgiveness I can give myself,

Though a ‘God’ can forgive and put me top-shelf.

My guilt is of my origin and of my sin.

That is why I cannot die,

‘Cause my faults would fall on some other guy.

That isn’t the way it should work, I’m the jerk!

I deserve to be punished.

Only me.

So I have to live for now to, to repent, don’t you see?
