618. I Once Was a Writer

I once was a writer,

Whom nobody read.

Who wasted their hours,

Alone, in their head.

For years, and years,

I bled out my soul,

Hoping to reach men,

And it took its toll.

I lost too much time,

That can not be returned,

On words unrealized,

And bridges burned.

I once was a writer,

Whom nobody read,

Who spoke the truth,

And left nothing unsaid.

Who wrote endlessly,

Unfelt, and unheard,

In the age of the new…

Unrecognized, and absurd.

For times, they change,

And those such as I,

Are a dying breed,

Under futures’ sky.

Yes, I once was a writer,

Whom nobody read,

Who decided one day,

To live, instead.

617. Chosen

I have known darkness.

I have known light.

I have known the morning.

I have known the night.

I have known creation.

I have known destruction.

I have known virtue.

I have known corruption.

I have known the uneven.

I have known the level.

I have known God.

I have known the devil.

I have known truth.

I have known lies.

I have known real.

I have known disguise.

I have known wrong.

I have known right.

I have known choice…

And have chosen Light!

616. Be The Light

In the deep blue ocean of night.

Drift upon the surface.

Do not sink.

Be the Light!

For the universe is vast and dark,

And primarily the same.

So be the rare…

Light a spark!

Be the sun which radiates bright,

And lights the way through time.

Choose goodness.

Do what’s right.

Be the Light.

Be the Light!

615. Improvidentdom

A scanning light washed over me,

And once it was over I could see,

A luminous map of the world,

With unexpected planning unfurled…

Upon my hands, which sank through the skin,

And I walked ‘way bitter as sin,

For I did not consent to this breach,

Of body…nor of the states reach.

I heard a voice speak distantly,

Which, suddenly, I could clearly see,

As if a station in my head,

Tuned into a TV show instead.

I could not turn it off or escape,

From the perpetual mind-rape.

I observed the inhumanity,

Of those I could not save indefinitely.

There is no immortality,

That’s worth living here eternally.

Machines are cold and lacking things,

Which can not grant to you hope, nor wings.

You can’t rely on metal and code,

To save your soul or change the mode,

Of transience, and hold souls ransom…

For time and space are not ad infinitum;

They have an end, as all things do.

All things have their time to move on through,

Souls in their day nourish the soil,

For the souls of tomorrow to cultivate and toil…

And grow.

610. Appreciative Depreciation

I forget I’m human all the time…

That I have a voice,

And a say,

And although things won’t always go my way,

That I can speak out, and have a choice.

I forget I’m human all the time…

Yet, I’ve decided…

It’s okay.

It’s just a human body anyway;

And we’re more than where we’ve resided.

I forget I’m not human sometimes…

That I am a soul,

And not bone,

And it’s normal to feel lost and alone…

As we journey, mere sparks of a whole…

Universe.
