581. I Am a Secret

I am a secret,

That no one wants to hear,

Yet, still, I exist,…

Tiptoeing ever near,…

And far.

I am a secret,

Which travels in the light,

Too bright to be seen,…

For blinding is the sight,…

Of truth.

I am a secret,

That no one wants around,…

Uncomfortable,…

And shake the very ground,…

Beneath.

I am a secret,

Which longs to be released,…

Under the table,

Just beyond life’s blithe feast,…

Of lies.

I am a secret,

That no one wants to hear.

I wander, unheard,…

Outside the atmosphere,…

Breathless.

I am a secret,

Which finds it hard to breathe,

In thick carelessness,…

Strangling,…while others seethe:

“Go! Leave!”…

“No one will believe”…

…”No one will believe”.

454. A-part

I float away…all day…everyday.

I drift away…never stay…never stay…

The same.

I am me…”I agree”…”I agree”…

Yet,…”I disagree…I’m not free to be me…

Fully”.

I want to do…what I want to…see it through;

But, I can not do what I want to…plans fall through…

The cracks.

I am there…everywhere…and no where.

I float in the air of time in despair…neither here nor there…

A piece.

I’m only ever part of me…one me…not every me.

I always find I disagree…with me…and me…and me…

In part.

I can not stay…this way…or that way.

I drift away…never stay…never stay…

The same.

217. Betrayal

Today I saw across the way,

A little girl all dressed in gray.

She made no sound but seemed to say,

“What am I to do with day?”

I laughed and laughed, and in the fray,

The sun had set…..now time to pay!

The girl sang out….”Betray”…..”Betray”…,

I screamed, “Go away!”. “Please go away!!”

I closed my eyes, turned in dismay,

And heard a heavy whisper say,

“Did you forget I’d gone astray?”

Crimson tears fell in disarray.

“Sorry”, I cried, as I faded away.

Today as I walked across the way,

My reflection in a glass doorway,

Lay bare vestments of scarlet gray.
