It’s often said, “Let go of the past,

So that you may live free”,

But what a lie this statement is.

What distortion of truth!

Everyday I try to hide,

Or run, or disagree,…

Yet everyday the past appears,

Pursues, and stands with me.

“Let go of the past”…Oh what a lie!

It won’t let go of me!
